{"id":341,"date":"2017-06-22T10:36:10","date_gmt":"2017-06-22T10:36:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/?p=341"},"modified":"2018-11-20T14:36:08","modified_gmt":"2018-11-20T09:06:08","slug":"news-ministry-of-social-justice-and-empowerment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/news-ministry-of-social-justice-and-empowerment\/","title":{"rendered":"MINISTRY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"CENTER\"><a href=\"http:\/\/socialjustice.nic.in\/\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Bookman Old Style', serif;\"><u><b>MINISTRY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPwD) has formulated the Accessible India Campaign i.e Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It is a nation-wide campaign for achieving universal accessibility for PwDs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It aims to enable persons with disabilities to gain universal access, equal opportunity for development, independent living and participation in an inclusive society in all aspects of life.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It is in line with the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UNCRPD)to which India is a signatory.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The campaign targets three separate verticals for achieving universal accessibility namelythe built up environment, transportation eco-system and information &amp; communication eco-system.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">DEPwD is collaborating with Ministry of Home, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare,Ministry of Information &amp; Broadcasting and Ministry of Tourism for this. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Targets under the campaign &#8211; Envisages making all railway stations of A1, A &amp; B-categories and the international airports fully accessible to the disabled.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Conducts accessibility audit of all the international airports, domestic airports, and major railway stations.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Seeks to convert at least 10% of government owned public transport carriers in the country fully accessible carriers for disabled persons by March 2018.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">At least 50% of all public documents by the Central and State Governments to meet accessibility standards for persons with disabilities by March 2018.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme (DDRS)<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It is to create an enabling environment to ensure equal opportunities, equity, and social justice and empowerment of persons with disabilities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It encourages voluntary action for ensuring effective implementation of the people with disabilities (equal opportunities and protection of rights) act of 1995.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The definition of disability includes Blindness, Low vision, Leprosy-cured, Hearing impairment, Loco motor disability, Mental retardation and Mental illness.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Parents\/guardians and voluntary organisations are encouraged to provide rehabilitation services.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">To provide financial assistance to facilitate delivery of various services to voluntary organizations\u2019 grants-in-aid to NGOS.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\">\u201c<span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana\u201d, a \u2018Scheme for <b>providing Physical Aids and Assisted-living Devices for Senior citizens belonging to BPL category\u2019 <\/b>will be soon launched by the Union Government. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It is the <b>first-of-its-kind Central Sector Scheme (CCS) in India<\/b>, to be fully funded by the Central Government. It is expected to benefit 5, 20,000 Senior Citizens. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Scheme will be implemented through the sole implementing agency, \u2018Artificial<b> Limbs Manufacturing Corporation (ALIMCO)\u2019, <\/b>(a PSU under M\/o SJ&amp;E), which will undertake one year free maintenance of the aids &amp; assisted living devices. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Beneficiaries will be identified by the State Governments\/UTs through a Committee chaired by the Deputy Commissioner\/District Collector. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The devices will help the Senior Citizens to overcome their age related physical impairment and to lead a dignified and productive life. <b>As far as possible, 30% of the beneficiaries in each district shall be women. <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>National Workshop on Autism Tools INCLEN and ISAA <\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">A meeting of <b>Master Trainers <\/b>from all parts of the country was recently held at the <b>\u2018National Training Workshop on Autism <\/b>using International Clinical Epidemiology Network <b>(INCLEN) <\/b>and Indian Scale of Assessment of Autism (<b>ISAA) Tools\u2019<\/b>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It was organized by the <b>Ministry of Social Justice &amp; Empowerment<\/b>. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The aim of the workshop was to <b>train and empower health care professionals <\/b>like paediatricians, psychologists &amp; psychiatrists to be trained as Master Trainers. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">These Master Trainer will further train required number of professionals in their respective States. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">In order to maintain uniformity and standard in assessment of autism, two types of <b>assessment tools <\/b>were recommended: One is <b>INCLEN Tool <\/b>and the other tool is <b>ISAA. <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>Autism is a neuro-developmental disorder <\/b>spanning entire life. There is <b>no definitive cure. <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>MINISTRY OF TEXTILES<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>Bunkar Mitra<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Bunkar Mitra is a Helpline for hand holding of Handloom weavers launched by Ministry of Textiles.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The professional queries of weavers will be answered by the experts in the field using this helpline.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It is single point of contact where weavers can seek solutions for their technical issues\/problems.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>MINISTRY OF TOURISM<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>Swadesh Darshan<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It is to develop theme-based tourist circuits on the principles of high tourist value,competitiveness and sustainability in an integrated manner to enrich tourist experience and enhance employment opportunities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Under the scheme, thirteen thematic circuits have been identified, for development -North-East India Circuit, Buddhist Circuit, Himalayan Circuit, Coastal Circuit, Krishna Circuit, Desert Circuit, Tribal Circuit, Eco Circuit, Wildlife Circuit, Rural Circuit, Spiritual Circuit, Ramayana Circuit and Heritage Circuit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Augmentation Drive (PRASAD)<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It is to identify and develop pilgrimage tourist destination on the principles of high tourist visits, competitiveness and sustainability in an integrated manner to enrich tourist experience and enhance employment opportunities.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Under the PRASAD scheme thirteen sites have been identified for development, namely:Amritsar, Ajmer, Dwaraka, Mathura, Varanasi, Gaya, Puri, Amaravati, Kanchipuram,Vellankanni, Kedarnath, Kamakhya and Patna.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Under the \u2018PRASAD\u2019 scheme the focus is on development and beautification of the identified pilgrimage destinations.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Whereas, in the \u2018Spiritual Circuit\u2019 identified under the Swadesh Darshan scheme, the thrust is on development of particular thematic circuit consisting of various religious\/spiritual destination in a State and Union Territory.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Note &#8211; HRIDAY Cities covers all PRASAD sites except Kedarnath and Kamakhya and instead it includes Warangal, Badami and Patna. HRIDAY comes under the Ministry ofUrban Development<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>Vanbandhu Kalyan Yojana<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It is launched for the holistic development and welfare of tribal population in India by plugging the infrastructure gaps and lags in human development indices.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The scheme focuses on<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Provision for a better standard of living and quality of life<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Improving access to and quality of education<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Generating resources for long-term and sustainable growth<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Bridging infrastructural gaps<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Protection of tribal culture and heritage.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Classic IAS Academy:-<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Classic IAS Academy is the considered the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/about.php\"><strong>Best IAS Institute in Delhi<\/strong><\/a> for the students.
