{"id":331,"date":"2017-06-06T09:57:11","date_gmt":"2017-06-06T09:57:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/?p=331"},"modified":"2024-06-07T17:48:02","modified_gmt":"2024-06-07T12:18:02","slug":"news-ministry-skill-development-entrepreneurship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/news-ministry-skill-development-entrepreneurship\/","title":{"rendered":"MINISTRY OF SKILL DEVELOPMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>National Skill Development Mission <\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The National Skill Development Missionaims to provide a <b>strong institutional framework <\/b>at the Centre and States for implementation of skilling activities in the country. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Mission will have a <b>three-tiered<\/b>, high powered decision making structure. At its apex, the <b>Mission\u2019s Governing Council, <\/b>chaired by the Prime Minister, will provide overall guidance and policy direction. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The <b>Steering Committee, <\/b>chaired by Minister in Charge of Skill Development, will review the Mission\u2019s activitiesin line with the direction set by the Governing Council. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b>The Mission Directorate, <\/b>with Secretary, Skill Development, will ensure implementation, coordination and convergenceof skilling activities across Central Ministries\/Departments and State Governments. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Mission will also run select sub-missions in high priority areas. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The National Skill Development Agency (NSDA), the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and the Directorate of Training will function under the overall guidance of the Mission. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The <b>Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE) <\/b>provides a natural home for the Mission, organically linking all three decisions making levels. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">According to government estimates, more than 1.04 Crore youth have been trained under the Skill India Mission in the year 2015-16 which is 36.8% higher than the previous year\u2019s recorded data. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>PradhanMantriKaushalVikasYojana<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It is an outcome based skill certification scheme implemented by National Skill DevelopmentCorporation (NSDC).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The objective is to enable a large number of Indian youth to take up industry-relevantskill training that will help them in securing a better livelihood.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Individuals with prior learning experience or skills will also be assessed and certifiedunder Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Training and Assessment fees are completely paid by the Government.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The Various components are : <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Short term training, <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Recognition of prior learning, <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Specialprojects, <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Kaushaland rozgarmela, <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Placement guidelines and monitoring guidelines.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme <\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The main objective of the scheme is to promote <b>apprenticeship training <\/b>and to increase the engagement of apprentices from present 2.3 lakh to <b>50 lakh cumulatively by 2020. <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">NAPS is implemented by <b>Director General of Training (DGT) under the aegis of Union Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE). <\/b><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Under the scheme, the <b>Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship will share 25% of the total stipend <\/b>payable to an apprentice with employers. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The <b>government will also fund 50% of the total expenditure incurred by the employer in providing basis training <\/b>to apprentices. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">All transactions including registration by employers, apprentices, registration of contract and payment to employers will be made in online mode. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">This scheme will cover all categories of apprentices except the Graduate, Technician and Technician (Vocational) apprentices which are covered by the scheme administered by Ministry of Human Resource Development. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The <b>National Policy of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, 2015 focuses<\/b> on apprenticeship as one of the key components for creating skilled manpower in India. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>UDAAN<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The programme aims to provide skills training and enhance the employability ofunemployed youth of J&amp;K.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The scheme covers graduates, post graduates and three year engineering diploma holders.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The key stakeholders are Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), State Government (Jammu &amp;Kashmir), Corporates and National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>UDAAN (Giving Wings to Girl Students)<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Another scheme of the same name is implemented by Ministry of Human ResourceDevelopment.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">This project aims at addressing the lower enrolment of girls in engineering colleges\/IITsand technological institutions.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It involves training 1000 selected girl students to compete for admission at premierEngineering colleges in India by providing course in an online and offline format.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The girl students enrolled in classes XI of KVs\/NVs\/other Government run Schoolsaffiliated to any Board in India are eligible for the Scheme.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>PradhanMantriYuvaYojana<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The <b>Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship <\/b>has launched Pradhan<b>MantriYuvaYojana<\/b>to scale up an ecosystem of entrepreneurship for youngsters. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The scheme spans over five years (2016-17 to 2020-21) with a project cost of Rs 499.94 crore. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It will provide <b>entrepreneurship education and training <\/b>to over 7 lakh students in 5 years through 3,050 institutes. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It will also include easy access to <b>information and mentor network<\/b>, credit, incubator and accelerator and advocacy to create a pathway for the youth. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The institutes under the PM\u2019s YuvaYojana include 2,200 institutes of higher learning (colleges, universities, and premier institutes), 300 schools, 500 ITIs and 50 entrepreneurship development centres through Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The <em>Classic IAS Academy<\/em> is a leading institute based in Delhi.
