The construction is currently on hold.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u><b>India and Myanmar Border Issues<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The formation of Myanmar as a separate State in 1935 and decolonization of the sub-continent in 1947 divided ethnic communities living along the Indo-Myanmar border.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">These communities, particularly Nagas, found the newly created boundary to be inconsistent with the traditional limits of the region they inhabited.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">And they felt a deep sense of insecurity as they became ethnic minorities on both sides of the border.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u><b>Free Movement Regime <\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The people living in the Eastern districts of Nagaland and in the areas of NSAZ in Myanmar have close family ties and engage in cultural and economic exchanges.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In some instances, the imaginary border line even cuts across houses, land and villages.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">People living on the Indian side, own land holdings including cultivated lands and forested areas across the border and are completely dependent on it for their livelihood.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">From the Myanmar side, a lot of villagers come to the Indian side to buy basic essentials.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Both the governments established the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Free Movement Regime (FMR),<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It allows Nagas to <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>travel 16 kilometers across the border<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> on either side without any visa requirements.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Taking advantage of the FMR, a sizeable number of <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>students from NSAZ also study in schools<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> on the Indian side of the border.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u><b>Shortcomings of FMR<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The FMR has been misused by locals to <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>smuggle contraband<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> in their head loads, which are not subject to inspection.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Militant groups have been using the porous border<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> for moving cadres and arms.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Along with other active Indian insurgent groups, the NSCN-Khaplang (NSCN-K), maintains its camps and training bases in NSAZ in Myanmar.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">China has also been reportedly aiding some of these groups.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Policing such a large area marked by <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>harsh terrain and dense forest<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> is difficult.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u><b>Way Ahead<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Trust and confidence amongst the affected population must be restoring.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Tripartite talks <\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">between governments and local stakeholders can be organized to address concerns.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Socio-economic initiatives on either side of the border region should be worked out.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">A mutually acceptable arrangement addressing the security concerns would be best way to address the border problem.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In case national security\u2019s necessity selective fencing, technology, and regulated flow of cross-border movement can be an optional.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<table border=\"1\" width=\"100%\" cellspacing=\"0\" cellpadding=\"7\">\n<colgroup>\n<col width=\"256*\" \/> <\/colgroup>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td valign=\"TOP\" width=\"100%\" height=\"76\">\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u><b>Naga Self-Administered Zone (NSAZ)<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">NSAZ is one of the six self-administered areas formed under the 2008 constitution of Myanmar<span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">It\u00a0is a self-administered zone <\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">consisting of 3 townships of <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lahe_Township\"><span style=\"color: #00000a;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Lahe,<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Leshi_Township\"><span style=\"color: #00000a;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Leshi<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">and in <\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sagaing_Region\"><span style=\"color: #00000a;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Sagaing Region<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"> of Manmar.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Those three districts were administratively part of\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Hkamti_District\"><span style=\"color: #00000a;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Hkamti District<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The bordering zone is to be self-administered by the\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Naga_people\"><span style=\"color: #00000a;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Naga people<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Its administrative seat is the town of\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lahe,_Burma\"><span style=\"color: #00000a;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">Lahe<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #111111;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: large;\"><b>Securing India\u2019s Strategic Autonomy<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><u><b>In News:<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><b> \u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">China said it is willing to question India&#8217;s\u00a0successful launch of Agni-V\u00a0ballistic missile at the United Nations Security Council. Chinese foreign Ministry said \u201c<\/span><\/span><\/span><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/UN-Security-Council\"><span style=\"color: #00000a;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">UN Security Council<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0has explicit regulations on whether India can develop\u00a0<\/span><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/timesofindia.indiatimes.com\/topic\/ballistic-missiles\"><span style=\"color: #00000a;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">ballistic missiles<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">\u00a0capable of carrying nuclear weapons\u201d<\/span><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u><b>UNSC Resolution <\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">China was referring to the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>UNSC Resolution 1172, 1998<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It was passed in the aftermath of the nuclear tests conducted by both India and Pakistan in May 1998.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The resolution had urged <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>India and Pakistan not to develop nuclear weapons delivery platforms<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> like ballistic missiles, to cap their nuclear weapons programme and cease all fissile materials production.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This resolution was approved under Chapter VI of the UN Charter and is\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>non-binding<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Therefore there are <\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>no constraints on India<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> pertaining to its weapons and missile programmes.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">But the Chinese media accused India of breaking the UN&#8217;s limits on its development of nuclear weapons and long-range ballistic missile.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">India affirmed that India&#8217;s strategic capabilities are not targeted against any particular country.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">India abides by all the applicable international obligations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u><b>Why China reacted?<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">India despite not being a signatory to the Nuclear Non-proliferation Treaty (NPT), is getting\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>preferential treatment<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0from the rest of the world.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">India had recently joined the\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR),<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\">\u00a0whereas China\u2019s credentials to be in the grouping were found lacking.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">China also stalled India\u2019s entry into the NSG and acted against Indian interests on the issue of terrorism emanating from the Pakistani soil.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><u><b>Way Ahead<\/b><\/u><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">India, however, does not appear to be giving a strong response to such Chinese actions.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Globally military parades have been observed that countries use such ceremonial parades\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>to display their military capabilities to the world.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">During the 2013 Republic Day parade, India had displayed Agni-V.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It appears that India avoided displaying its nuclear might after 2013 for obvious geopolitical reasons.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nuclear deterrence is also about demonstration and display of capabilities.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Such strategic signalling is often necessary to send a strong message to those questioning India\u2019s\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><b>\u2018strategic autonomy\u2019.<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #ffffff;\"><b>AMAN 2017<\/b><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The international naval exercise \u201cAMAN-17\u201d is being held in Karachi, Pakistan. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Aman-17&#8242; is the fifth such exercise that has taken place. <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pakistan has been holding the exercise every alternate year since 2007.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p sea phases<\/b><\/span><span style=\"color: #000000;\"> where participants will witness a variety of activities including Search &amp; Rescue (SAR) Operations, gunnery drills, anti-piracy demonstrations, replenishment at Sea (RAS) and maritime counter-terrorism demonstrations.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It involves ships, aircraft, helicopters, Special Operations Forces (SOF), Explosives Ordinance Disposal (EOD), marine teams and observers from regional as well extra-regional navies.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">This exercise provides a platform for the navies involved \u2013 some of which do not work together very often \u2013 to hone their skills and build cooperation and friendship to promote peace and stability.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">An indigenously developed exo-atmospheric interceptor missile, named Prithvi Defence Vehice (PVD) Interceptor Missile, successfully destroyed an incoming target missile mimicking an enemy ballistic missile at a height of over 50 km.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The weapon systems radars have detected and tracked the target.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p align=\"JUSTIFY\"><span style=\"font-family: 'Times New Roman', serif;\"><span style=\"font-size: medium;\">The mission computer predicting the trajectory of the target has launched the interceptor missile from Dr. Abdul Kalam Island.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p
