{"id":2802,"date":"2020-11-17T14:00:18","date_gmt":"2020-11-17T08:30:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/?p=2802"},"modified":"2020-11-17T15:38:56","modified_gmt":"2020-11-17T10:08:56","slug":"launch-of-earth-observation-satellite","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/launch-of-earth-observation-satellite\/","title":{"rendered":"Launch of Earth Observation Satellite"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In News<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The successful launch of Earth Observation Satellite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In-Detail<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>ISRO had\nsuccessful launched the <strong>Earth Observation Satellite E<\/strong><strong>OS-1.<\/strong><\/li><li>A total of 10 satellites including nine foreign\nsatellites were launched by PSLV-C49<strong>.<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>EOS-01 <\/strong>along with 9\ncustomer satellites were placed in the <strong>575 Km orbit.<\/strong><\/li><li>The satellite\ncommenced operating its function along with the deployment of solar panels.<\/li><li>Due to COVID-19, ISRO\nimplemented precautions by maintaining social distance and scientists wearing\nmasks.<\/li><li>ISRO arranged for the\nlive telecast of the launch through various platforms.<\/li><li>The rocket launch took\nplace at Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh.<\/li><li>The rocket launch took\nplace at the first launch pad of SDSC at 3.12 pm at the end of the 26-hour countdown.<\/li><li>It is the <strong>51<sup>st<\/sup> flight with the <\/strong><strong>four-stage\n44.5 meters tall PSLV-C49.<\/strong><\/li><li>The launch was\noriginally scheduled for 3.02 pm but delayed due to debris on the path of the\nrocket and weather conditions.<\/li><li>The PSLV C-49 rocket\nfirst injected the primary satellite EOS-01 into orbit.<\/li><li>All the 10 satellites\nwere separated and placed into desired orbits.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">EOS-01 Applications<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The applications of\nEOS-01 are in agriculture, forestry, and\ndisaster management support.<\/li><li>Of the nine foreign satellites <strong>four\nare from the USA, four from Luxembourg and one from<\/strong> <strong>Lithuania.<\/strong><\/li><li>The international\ncustomer satellites were launched under the arrangement with the <strong>NewSpace India Limited (NSIL).<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Uses of Earth Observation Satellites<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Agricultural Crops Inventory<\/li><li>Water Resources Information System<\/li><li>Ground Water Prospects<\/li><li>Forest Working Plans<\/li><li>Biodiversity and Coral Mapping <\/li><li>Potential Fishing Zones <\/li><li>Ocean State Forecasts <\/li><li>Rural Development<\/li><li>Urban Development<\/li><li>Monitoring of Glacial Lakes and Water Bodies<\/li><li>Location based Services using NavIC constellation<\/li><li>Cyclone and Floods Mapping &amp; Monitoring<\/li><li>Landslide Mapping &amp; Monitoring<\/li><li>Agricultural Drought<\/li><li>Forest Fire monitoring<\/li><li>Earthquakes<\/li><li>Extreme Weather Monitoring<\/li><li>Experimental Forecasts <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">NewSpace India Limited<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The NewSpace India Limited was established in the year\n2019 under the administrative head of the Department of Space.<\/li><li>The NSIL is a Public Sector Enterprise that was created\nwith an objective to increase industry participation in the Indian space\nprogram.<\/li><li>The business areas of NSIL are:<\/li><li>To promote industry participation in the production of\nPSLV and small satellite launch vehicles catering to the growing demand for\nsuch vehicles in the international market. <\/li><li>Producing and marketing space-based services such as\nlaunch services, leasing of transponders, mission monitoring services, etc. <\/li><li>Building small satellites and Earth observation\nsatellites as per client\u2019s requirements.<\/li><li>Acting as the nodal agency for the transfer of\ntechnology developed by ISRO and its units.<\/li><li>Marketing spinoff technologies from products and\nservices developed by ISRO.<\/li><li>Providing consultancy services.<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>In News The successful launch of Earth Observation Satellite.
