{"id":2736,"date":"2020-10-09T12:36:27","date_gmt":"2020-10-09T07:06:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/?p=2736"},"modified":"2020-10-09T12:36:27","modified_gmt":"2020-10-09T07:06:27","slug":"numerous-super-habitable-planets-identified","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/numerous-super-habitable-planets-identified\/","title":{"rendered":"Numerous Super Habitable Planets Identified"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In News<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A team of scientists identified <strong>24 super habitable planets<\/strong>, some with\nconditions for life better than Earth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In-Detail<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Scientists from <strong>Washington University<\/strong>\nidentified <strong>two dozen planets outside the solar system that may have\nconditions more suitable for life than the Earth.<\/strong><\/li><li>They have the characteristics of potential super\nhabitable planets.<\/li><li>The characteristics include being older, larger, slightly warmer, and\npossibly wetter than the Earth.<\/li><li>The discovery of these exoplanets signify that life is possible beyond earth\nand could thrive on planets that circle gradually changing stars with longer\nlife spans than the Sun.<\/li><li>The super habitable planets are located more\nthan 100 light years away.<\/li><li>Future observation efforts like <strong>NASA<\/strong><strong>\u2019s James Web Space Telescope, the LUVIOR space\nobservatory and the European Space Agency<\/strong><strong>\u2019s PLATO Space Telescope will benefit from the discovery.<\/strong><\/li><li>Researchers identified <strong>super habitability\ncriteria<\/strong> and searched among 4500 for a good one.<\/li><li>Scientists selected <strong>planet-star systems\nthat are possibly terrestrial planets that are orbiting within the host star<\/strong><strong>\u2019s liquid water habitable zone. <\/strong><\/li><li><strong>They form the Kepler Object of Interest\nExoplanet Archive of transiting exoplanets.<\/strong><\/li><li>Scientists observed systems with <strong>K dwarf\nstars while observing systems with cooler G stars.<\/strong><\/li><li>These systems are cooler, less massive and less\nluminous than the sun.<\/li><li>The <strong>super habitable systems have long\nlifespans of 20 billion to 70 billion years.<\/strong><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Super Habitability Criteria<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Scientists say that <strong>to be habitable the\nplanet should not be old as old<\/strong> planets areless habitable. They would have exhausted their\ngeothermal heat and would have no protective geomagnetic fields.<\/li><li><strong>A super habitable planet will have more\nhabitable land than earth, longer radioactive decay and stronger gravity so\nthat the planet can retain its atmosphere for a long period of time.<\/strong><\/li><li>Scientists say that slightly warmer temperature,\na mean surface temperature of about 5 degree Celsius greater than Earth along\nwith the little moisture would be better for life.<\/li><li>But scientists have identified that only one out\nof the 24 planets exhibited four of the critical parameters while the rest do\nnot meet the criteria. <\/li><li>The star of this planet is named KOI 5715.01.<\/li><li>It is 3000 light years away from earth. This\nstar is estimated to be 5.5 billion years old or one billion year older than our\nsun.<\/li><li>Our sun is estimate to be less than 10 billion\nyears old. <\/li><li>KOI 5715.01 has 76% the mass of our sun, 77% its\nradius and 34% its light.<\/li><li>Researchers say that this makes it much more\ncomfortable for life than our home planet.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>In News A team of scientists identified 24 super habitable planets, some with conditions for life better than Earth.
