{"id":2672,"date":"2020-09-11T14:47:14","date_gmt":"2020-09-11T09:17:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/?p=2672"},"modified":"2020-09-11T14:47:14","modified_gmt":"2020-09-11T09:17:14","slug":"start-up-village-entrepreneurship-programme-an-overview","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/start-up-village-entrepreneurship-programme-an-overview\/","title":{"rendered":"Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme an Overview"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In\nNews<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Start-Up\nVillage Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP)<\/strong> is realising enterprises in rural\nareas and building rural entrepreneurs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In-Detail<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP)\nis implemented by Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana.<\/strong><\/li><li>It is a <strong>sub-scheme of National Rural\nLivelihoods Mission (NRLM)<\/strong>ofthe Ministry of Rural Development and is being\nimplemented since 2016.<\/li><li>The <strong>main objective of the scheme is to\nsupport the rural poor from poverty by helping them set up enterprises and\nstabilizing them.<\/strong><\/li><li>SVEP provides <strong>self-employment opportunities\nwith financial assistance, training in business management and soft skills\nwhile creating local community cadres for the promotion of the business.<\/strong><\/li><li>The three major pillars of rural startups under\nSVEP are <strong>finances, incubation and skill ecosystems.<\/strong><\/li><li>The major area is to develop a pool of community\nresource persons who are local and support entrepreneurs setting-up rural\nenterprises-enterprise promotion\n(CRP-EP).<\/li><li>The Block Resource Centre (BRC) in SEVP blocks\nwill monitor and manage the community resource persons, appraise SVEP loan\napplication, acts as the repository of enterprise related information and plays\nthe role to support sustainable revenue model to operate effectively and\nindependently.<\/li><li>The SVEP has extended business support services\nand capital infusion to 153 blocks of 23 states.<\/li><li>As of 2020, Community Resource Person-\nEnterprise Promotion (CRP-EP) trained 2000 cadre and provided services to rural\nentrepreneurs and supported 100,000 enterprises.<\/li><li>A mid-term review was conducted in September\n2019 by <strong>Quality Council of India <\/strong>shows about 82% of the sampled\nentrepreneurs across the blocks from SC, ST and OBC categories.<\/li><li>This signifies the <strong>social inclusion<\/strong> which\nis one of the pillars of NRLM.<\/li><li>In the manufacturing area, 75% of the\nenterprises were owned and managed by women and average monthly revenue of\nenterprises was Rs 39,000-Rs 47,000, in service area Rs 41,700 and in case of\ntrading Rs 36,000.<\/li><li>The study shows that 57% of the total household\nincome of entrepreneurs is through SVEP enterprises.<\/li><li>SVEP promotes majorly group and individual\nenterprises. It promotes enterprises majorly on manufacturing, service and\ntrading sectors.<\/li><li>The CRP-EP provides the business support\nservices to the entrepreneurs and is certified.<\/li><li>To create standard E-learning modules for\nminimizing the transmission loss in technical aspects, investments are made on\nSVEP on use of ICT.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Impact\nof Covid-19 Pandemic<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>During the COVID-19 pandemic, women SHGs of\nDAY-NRLM stepped up as effective frontline responders.<\/li><li>Around 318,413 SHG members are involved in the\nmanufacturing of face masks, protective kits and sanitizing products as on 14\nAugust 2020.<\/li><li>In 29 states, women SHG members produced around\n23.07 crore face masks, 1.02 lakh litres of hand wash and 4.79 litres of\nsanitizer with an estimated business turnover of Rs. 903 crore.<\/li><li>During the lockdown, the rural women made an\nadditional income of Rs 29,000 each.<\/li><li>The most successful product during the lockdown\nis the face masks involving 2.96 lakh SHG members generating 23.07 crore masks\nin 150 days.<\/li><li>The estimated business volume is about Rs. 375\ncrore.<\/li><li>Some women SHGs involved in running community\nkitchens, serving cooked meals to 5.72 crore vulnerable community members.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>In News Start-Up Village Entrepreneurship Programme (SVEP) is realising enterprises in rural areas and building rural entrepreneurs.
