{"id":2270,"date":"2019-10-05T11:42:21","date_gmt":"2019-10-05T06:12:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/?p=2270"},"modified":"2019-10-05T11:42:22","modified_gmt":"2019-10-05T06:12:22","slug":"new-guidelines-for-installing-ev-charging-stations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/new-guidelines-for-installing-ev-charging-stations\/","title":{"rendered":"New Guidelines for Installing EV Charging Stations"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In News <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The central government has released new guidelines for installing\ncharging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In-Detail<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>As per the new guidelines, the Bureau of Energy\nEfficiency (BEE) will be the Central nodal agency facilitating the installation\nof charging infrastructure for EVs across the country.<\/li><li>A provision to set up state nodal agency\nnominated by the State Governments has also been included in the new\nguidelines. <\/li><li>These guidelines will supersede the earlier\nguidelines issued by the Ministry of Power on December 14, 2018. <\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Phase-Wise Installation <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The guidelines envisage a phase-wise\ninstallation of charging stations to form a network of charging stations across\nthe country.<\/li><li>There should be at least one charging station in\na grid area of 3 X 3 Km in the cities and at least one station for every 25 km\non both sides of roads\/highways.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The Plan<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Under Phase I, in one to three years, all\nmegacities with population of over 4 million as per the 2011 census will be\ncovered. <\/li><li>Also, all expressways, highways and major roads\nconnected to these cities will be covered in this phase. <\/li><li>Under Phase II, three to five years from now,\nall big cities such as state capitals and Union Territory headquarters along\nwith highways that connect to these cities may be covered.<\/li><li>Also, the new guidelines envisage setting up of\nfast-charging stations along the highway for every 100 km. <\/li><li>These will ease inter-city travel and also\nfulfil the charging needs of heavy-duty EVs like buses or trucks.<\/li><li>There will a charging station on each side of\nthe road\/highway preferably close to the Public Charging Station (PCS).<\/li><li>The Ministry of Power has noted that the PCS\nwill be a de-licensed activity that is any entity or individual is free to set\nup PCS.<\/li><li>The new guidelines also allow different\nstandards of chargers to be installed in the PCS. They are CCS, CHAdeMO, Type-2\nAC, Bharat AC 001.<\/li><li>The owners of the PCS will have the freedom to\nchoose chargers as per the market requirements.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion <\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The new guidelines are a step in the right direction to\nfacilitate EV infrastructure in the country. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>In News The central government has released new guidelines for installing charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs).
