The Arab Springs was a sequence of\nanti-government protests in North Africa. The uprising forced the Yemen\npresident Ali Abdullah Saleh to quit office while his deputy Abdrabbuh Mansour\nHadi assumed the office.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>President Hadi failed to tackle various\npolitical and economic challenges like Jihadi attacks, separatist movements in\nthe South, unemployment, corruption and food security. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>In the face of the failure of the government,\nYemen\u2019s Zaidi Shia Muslim minority took advantage of the circumstances and\norganized the Houthi movement<\/strong>. And took over northern Saada province.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Many disillusioned citizens supported the\nmovement and the insurgents took control over the capital city of Sana\u2019a in\n2014. This led to the resignation of Prime Minister Mohammad Basindawa. <strong>In\nJanuary 2015, the Houthi rebels seized the president\u2019s palace,&nbsp; Abdrabbuh Mansour Hadi was also forced to\nresign.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The coalition and geopolitics:<\/strong> The advancement of the Houthi movement was seen as an anti-constitutional revolt by Saudi Arabia<strong>. In 2015, fearing the advancement of Shiya advancement, Saudi Arabia snitched up a coalition with the United States and neighboring Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Sudan, and Egypt to restore the political order in Yemen and repress the Houthi <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"606\" height=\"457\" src=\"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/saudi.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2071\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/saudi.jpg 606w, https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/saudi-300x226.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/saudi-326x245.jpg 326w, https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/08\/saudi-80x60.jpg 80w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 606px) 100vw, 606px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The STC revolt:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After four years of struggling the coalition could not\nachieve its desired result of restoring order. Last week <strong>Southern\nTransitional Council (STC), an armed group functioning under the coalition,\nturned against the coalition and gave a whole new dimension to the war.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The STC has control over the capital city of Sana\u2019a and\nAdan. In a response to the mutiny, Saudi Arebia started to air strike STC.\nCurrently a tenuous cease fire is established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>UAE in the picture:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>UAE has been backing the Southern Transitional Council after the disappointing failure of the coalition. UAE has been a long time ally of the Saudi in its foreign policy. But in Yemen<strong>, while Saudi backs the Hadi government and Sunni&nbsp; parties to restore balance in the country, UAE is counts on STC&nbsp; to bring political balance and intends to exert its influence in southern Yemen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>Context: &nbsp;The growing tensions in Yemen Conflict.
