The policy is named &#8211;<strong> Global Deal for Nature (GDN)<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h3>In-Detail<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>Anthropogenic activities have aggravated the extinction process on Earth.<\/li>\n<li>Earth witnessed five mass extinctions so far and the sixth is being caused by humans.<\/li>\n<li>To prevent further loss of biodiversity, 19 international Scientists have proposed a policy called Global Deal of Nature.<\/li>\n<li>As per the policy, $100 billion is needed every year to save the diversity and abundance of life on earth.<\/li>\n<li>GDN plan will be implementing and integrating climate and nature deals at a global level to avoid loss of biodiversity.<\/li>\n<li>Just like the Paris Climate Agreement that brought the world together to tackle climate change, GDN will be a global conservation plan to prevent sixth mass extinction.<\/li>\n<li>GDN is science-based and time-bound.<\/li>\n<li>The proposed plan has detailed guidelines, milestones, and targets for the world nations to follow and achieve.<\/li>\n<li>They will help the world avoid the threat of a two-degree increase in temperatures that might lead to biodiversity catastrophe.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Important Goals<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The three main goals of the GDN are:\n<ol>\n<li>Conserving 30% of the Earth\u2019s surface in order to protect the biodiversity.<\/li>\n<li>To conserve the Earth\u2019 carbon storehouses to mitigate climate change<\/li>\n<li>And reducing any major threat to biodiversity.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>The plan envisages setting up protected areas as natural ecosystems where biodiversity can thrive.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Conclusion<\/h3>\n<p>It is absolutely necessary for nations to consider the GDN plan at a time when the world is looking at an uncertain future with rising temperatures and loss of diversity due to human activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<div class=\"mh-excerpt\"><p>In News On the Earth Day (22 April 2019), Scientists have proposed a policy for the world to prevent the extinction of species on the <a class=\"mh-excerpt-more\" href=\"https:\/\/www.classiciasacademy.com\/blog\/scientists-propose-a-policy-to-prevent-sixth-mass-extinction\/\" title=\"Scientists Propose a Policy to Prevent Sixth Mass Extinction\">    [read more]<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":1554,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_monsterinsights_skip_tracking":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_active":false,"_monsterinsights_sitenote_note":"","_monsterinsights_sitenote_category":0,"footnotes":""},"categories":[98],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v22.9 -
